Our Adoption Policy, Clearly Explained
Every puppy deserves a safe, loving home. We work only with trusted, personally vetted breeders who meet strict health, ethical and care standards. These policies protect puppy welfare and help every family adopt with confidence.
Puppy Age & Readiness
No puppy leaves before a minimum of 8 weeks. Each puppy must receive early socialisation, complete their first age-appropriate vaccinations, be fully weaned and be physically and emotionally ready for a new environment. Some puppies may need additional time, and we never rush a puppy out of care.
Reservation & Payment
A non-refundable reservation deposit, typically 30–50% depending on breed, secures the puppy and removes them from public availability.
- Balance: due in full before or at collection
- Payment: EFT, cash or secure online payment
- No credit: payment plans and credit facilities are not offered
- Transfer: the deposit may move to another available puppy within 60 days, subject to availability
Buyer Screening & Responsible Ownership
We may refuse a sale if a home appears unsuitable. Prospective owners must confirm they can provide:
- A safe, secure home with adequate space for the breed
- Time for training, exercise and companionship
- Ongoing veterinary care, quality food and grooming
- A lifetime commitment to responsible ownership
- Landlord permission where applicable
We may ask reasonable follow-up questions or arrange a brief conversation before confirming a reservation.
Returns & Lifetime Rehoming Help
If you can no longer care for your dog, contact us first. We will always accept them back, with no time limit, and help find a responsible new home through our network.
We do not support selling or rehoming our puppies through third-party classified sites.
Ethical Breeder Standards
Every partner is personally vetted and expected to meet rigorous standards:
- Breed-specific genetic health testing
- No puppy farming, mass breeding or unethical practices
- Adequate rest for mother dogs between litters
- Clean, spacious and enriching environments
We conduct regular check-ins and may end any partnership that falls below these standards.
Transparent Reservation Terms
Deposits are not refundable in cash. If plans change before collection, the deposit may be transferred to another available puppy within 60 days, subject to availability.
All reservation, payment and adoption terms are supplied in writing so you can review them before proceeding.

Choose an available puppy and contact our team. We will confirm availability, explain the deposit and guide you through the reservation steps.
Are all puppies vaccinated?+
Puppies receive vaccinations appropriate for their age, along with deworming and a veterinary health examination before going home.
Can you deliver anywhere in South Africa?+
Safe nationwide transport is available to major cities and most surrounding areas. Availability and fees depend on the destination.
Do I receive health records?+
Yes. Every puppy leaves with available veterinary, vaccination and deworming documentation.
Can I collect my puppy in person?+
Yes. In-person collection is encouraged where possible so you can meet your puppy and receive final care guidance.
What happens if I cannot keep my dog later?+
Contact Pure Paw Puppies first. Our lifetime rehoming assistance programme can help find a responsible new home.
Is the reservation deposit refundable?+
The reservation deposit is non-refundable in cash. It may be transferred to another available puppy within 60 days, subject to availability.
